Alike other people, Nicole – a German woman had always dreamed of having a cat, but she never expected that one day fate would bring her two at the same time! On her visit to a local farm, she accidentally spotted two little kittens hiding in the corner of a barn. At that time they were found, two little kitten were only 4-month-old. Nicole acknowledged that she needed to help these two and she really wanted to.
Nicole said in an interview “They were in a desolate condition with mites and infections in their ears. It hurts me to see them suffer, so I took both home.” Both kitties were incredibly beautiful with black and white coats and had wonderful and warm personalities. Therefore, Nicole decided to name them ‘Elli’ and ‘Rosie’. Thanks to lots of love and care, the kitty sisters had good nursing and quickly became two strong and healthy cats.
Elli was a bit different compared to other cats as she showed her honest affection and was extremely cuddly from the very beginning.
9 months later, Nicole noticed a small white patch on Elli’s black coat. She tried to remove it but it turned out to be Elli’s fur.
Since then, Elli’s appearance started to change as more patches continued to form all over her coat. Nicole was unsure about Elli’s condition so that she took Elli to the vet.
The vet calmed Nicole down and explained that Elli has a very rare condition named Vitiligo. Vitiligo occurs when patches of the skin/fur lose their pigment. This rare condition affects about 0.5-2% of the general population in humans and it is even more uncommon in animals.
Luckily, the condition has no harm to Elli’s physical health. It is only gives her more unique features and added more adorableness.
Thi particular change makes Elli’s fur looked like there are snowflakes on it. But Nicole thinks that Elli actually looks like a little snowy owl.
It’s very fascinating, isn’t it? How special when Elli was born with a normal black fur and her fur slowly “evolve” into something spectacular!
Elli and Rosie – the beloved kitties once needed to be save, are now grown strong and beautiful.
