Woman Quits Her Job And Sails Around The World With Her Rescue Cat

Liz Clark is literally a female pirate in real life when she quit her job in 2006 and started sailing around the world ever since. She used to work as a bartender in San Diego, California, but now she’s a full-time pirate. Sailing around the ocean on her Cal 40 sailboat and document her experience and adventures. In 2013, she welcomed a 6 months old kitten on board with her and together they’ve been exploring the ocean.

Luckily, unlike the major of cats don’t like water, Clark’s cat has adapted to living surrounded by water. Amelia the cat enjoys fishing from the boat, walking on the beach and hiking with her owner.

So far, the badass duo has traveled along the western coast of Mexico and Central America and around the South Pacific. The Instagram account called Captain Lizzy which keeps photos of Liz and Amelia’s adventures has more than 100K followers now.

Liz shared that she thought Amelia needed to go out of a cat comfort zone more often.

And Amelia now understands that Liz will keep her safe and she will have a lot of fun.

Liz made the yacht feel much more at home.
