Messi was one of cougar cubs born at the zoo. He was sold to the Saransk Zoo when he was three months. The zoo owner couldn’t stand this situation anymore, he asked for help.
At that time, Aleksandr always had a dream to have a big cat. In case, he and his wife, Mariya kept an exotic pet like that in the house, it wasn’t an easy thing to do. However, with the strong desire, they decided to go to the zoo and began negotiation to buy Messi, which led to a good result for both buyer and the zoo.
At first, because of weak health, Messi needed much medical attention and care. No matter how good treatment was, this big cat was just only two-thirds of the size of the average puma.
Regardless of the wildness, the puma is just like a dog. Aleksandr’s family, along with Messi walks twice a day. He can respond to about 10 different commands after a dog training.
He persuaded people with his good behavior that he wouldn’t be doing anything bad apart from some small naughty things. Messi is extremely friendly and approachable.
Mariya and Alecksands share a one-bedroom apartment with him. It is decorated with tree, bamboo walls, and a hiding hole.
It seems like that Messi is just a big cat, no more. Although he belongs to a wildlife, he can’t survive with the danger of living with other wild animals.
Having a puma in house is really difficult, but it was possible here like a part of destiny between the big cat and this family.
